Weibull vs Exponential PDFs

Comparison of Weibull vs Exponential PDFs

This is a short interactive note that let’s you play with different β values and compare the impact for a simple calculation. You may need to download and install the free Wolfram Player and plugin for your browser. You can find it at

[WolframCDF source=”http://nomtbf.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/WvE-pdf.cdf” CDFwidth=”600″ CDFheight=”1900″ altimage=”http://nomtbf.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/WvE-pdf.png”]

The embedded CDF is pretty simple to use. At the end of the slider is a small button, which opens a panel of additional controls. The plus sign in upper right when clicked starts an animation and opens another control panel.

I’m still working on labels, titles, and other features. While you need the Wolfram CDF player installed it does provide some very nice features, like letting you change the calculations and plots dynamically.

So, please play with it and let me know what you think of using this approach to show data, formulas and ideas?

  1. Where is the link to the demonstration? All I get is the link to download the cdf player from Wolfram.
